 Whiteparish in Tiling sponsership deal

Whiteparish have signed a five-year sponsorship deal with Tiling Firm InStyle Tiling. The deal will make InStyle Tiling the "Integrated Tiling Partner" of the Memorial Ground club in Salisbury. Announcing the deal, chief executive Rob Harris said the partnership was proof of the Stacey family's long-term commitment to the club.  "We will be around for the length of this deal and many more in addition to that," Harris said. "This demonstrates the strength of the club. It is a long-term partnership for five years. But Harris admitted that the Orange and Black scarves used by anti-Stacey fans during the side's 3-3 draw with Wilton Club on Sunday had not gone unnoticed. "Everyone has the right to protest and there was certainly a lot of orange and black there last night, you cannot deny that," he said. But the Parish chief executive said the Stacey regime had brought about benefits for the Memorial Ground side which had been ignored. "It doesn't get much media coverage but the very fact they have come in and are able to do these deals benefits us," he stated. "We can reinvest that money back into the team."  Parish enjoy a large fan base in Salisbury and this latest deal should help raise their profile further.  "Anyone who went on our tour of Wiltshire last summer knows the strength of feeling that Wiltshirians have for the club," Harris added.  "Over 40,000 attended our training session and another 40,000 came to the second match in Harnham, despite only having 48 hours' notice of the fixture."  The tiling firm was also an official partner for Parish's tour of Hampshire in 2009.  Last summer, Parish signed a four-year shirt sponsorship deal with the Pub Giant Parish Lantern. The new sponsor will appear on Whitparish's home shirts from the start of the 2010/11 season.

O'Donnell explains Dacosta's delayed Whiteparish return

Whiteparish defender Richard Dacosta will make a delayed comeback after injury in a reserve game next week, according to Sean O'Donnell. Dacosta has been out with a knee injury since September 2008 but was set to play in a reserve match on Thursday. "Rich went to see a specialist on Thursday," said the Lions boss. "There is nothing wrong and the idea is for him to play in the next game."  But The parish held him back, saying it would disrupt his training schedule. The 39-year-old's next chance to play is in the reserve team's match against Alderbury at their Junction Road  ground next Thursday, where he is expected to start. Dacosta has suffered long-term problems with tendinitis and played only three games for his club in 2008. In a bid to solve the problem, he had knee surgery under the guidance of specialist Dr Richard Steadman in America and returned to Parish's Memorial Ground training base 12 months later. But his expected return to training within a couple of months did not materialise and his comeback has been continually delayed although Parish remain hopeful he could feature in the title run-in. O'Donnell added he is expecting veteran defender Stuart Dear to make his return after a ankle injury against Chilworth Manor at The Memorial Ground, on 21 March. "Stuart will be fit for the Chilworth game," confirmed the Scot. "His performances in training have been fantastic. "He's had a month's rest, and we will be getting a fresh player back, which is good."

Parish players support team mate Rivers

Three Whiteparish players wore T-shirts with the words "Team Rivers" in support of Jody Rivers during their draw with Wilton on Sunday. River's wife has been at the centre of a media storm after an alleged affair with the utility stars  Whiteparish team-mate Tom Mundy. Its also rumoured that lisa has fallen pregnant with Mundy's baby. Dan Barnes, Jon Lamb and Chris Smith were wearing the T-shirts.  "The players are very close to Jody," said Whiteparish boss Sean O'Donnell. "It was a nice gesture." In a statement on Monday, Jody, 29,  said he would not be commenting about the reports of the alleged affair. "The reports deal with matters which are of a deeply personal and private nature," he said through his lawyers. "My primary concern is the welfare of my daughters. Therefore, I intend to make no comment whatsoever either now or in the future about these reports and ask that my privacy is respected." O'Donnell added: "He is a fantastic player and a good guy."

Smiths Phobia

Outside of the training ground this week Whiteparishfc.com caught up with Chris Smith where he revealed he had an unpleasant experience at the hairdressers. The former Wilton man has developed tonsurephobia (fear of getting your haircut) in recent years and although we can't be certain, we think it could have something to do with a VT a couple of years ago when the club sent him to a salon to get his haircut like Marseille midfielder Lucho Gonzalez! "I was sitting there for 20 minutes getting more and more nervous," he explained. "By the time I got in the seat I told him how much I wanted off and he was like, 'is that it'!? Needless to say but no one could tell the difference. To cheer himself up he went out and bought a load of new clothes, but later admitted it had more to do with the fact that he couldn't be bothered to wash his dirty ones!

Man remanded over robbery at Jon Lambs home

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court accused of taking part in a robbery at Whiteparish footballer Jon Lamb's mansion. Mr Lamb's wife Hayley Dawson 23, was confronted by four masked raiders at home in Romsey, Hampshire, in 2007. Tom Robinson, of  Salisbury, Wiltshire, is charged with burglary and robbery. He did not enter a plea at Salisburyl Crown Court. Mr Robinson, 19, was remanded in custody until 16 April. His three-day trial is due to begin in June. The robbers struck while the midfielder, 23, was playing in Whiteparish's home defeat to Bulford.

 Cranmer breaks security guards leg.

Whiteparish FC vice captain William Cranmer broke the leg of a security guard as he drove out of the club's training ground then left the scene, police said. The club said his hairdressers car hit the man as he drove slowly through photographers and fans after sunday's 3-3 draw with Wilton Club in the League. Police said the man broke his leg but the club has said it was badly bruised. It said Cranmer, who drove off, was aware of "a lot of contact" with his car but did not think anyone had been injured. A Wiltshire Police spokesman said Cranmer was later breathalysed by Salisbury Police at his home in Bishopdown and investigations were continuing. He said the injured 35-year-old security guard was in a stable condition in a salisbury hospital. A Parish spokesman said: "We can confirm there was an unfortunate accident as Will Cranmer left The memorial ground on sunday. "When driving out of the stadium at approximately 1-2 mph in a queue of traffic exiting the ground, his car was surrounded by photographers and fans. "In the melee that ensued a member of Whiteparish's security staff was knocked to the ground, making contact with the car. He suffered a badly bruised leg. "Will was aware at the time that there was a lot of contact with his car during the incident, but not that anyone was injured as a result.  "Upon hearing of the injury, Will spoke to the police. He has also been in contact with the staff member to check on his welfare."

 O'Donnell makes his managerial return

Sean O'Donnell has been unveiled as the new manager of struggling Whiteparish F.C.  The 35-year-old replaces the new Whiteparish Director of football Tim Mundy, who was relieved of his duties on Monday. He takes charge of a team currently third bottom of the 1st division and will be assisted by Dan Barnes. "I want us to play open, attractive football," said O'Donnell who has signed a short-term contract until the end of the season. "It's about cool heads, taking opportunities when they come, and a positive outlook," added O'Donnell. "The brightest person on the training ground has to be the manager, particularly when you're on a poor run. "You get a bit of respect as you're the new manager but that'll only last as long as the first session. It's important that you can cut it on the training ground." Mundy lost his job after Sunday's 7-4 defeat at home to Bulford. However, O'Donnell wants a repeat of the battling performance that saw 10-man Whiteparish hold out until penalties against F.C St Annes.

 Parish sign Cranmer on loan

Whiteparish have signed Laverstock defender Will Cranmer on a four-month loan. The 23-year-old can play at left, right-back, centre-back and midfield and has come through the ranks of the Laverstock youth team. "Will is a tough lad with a very good attitude," Lions managers Barnes and Mundy said. "He is comfortable on the ball and can get forward and deliver balls into the box," they said. Cranmer was a player the Whiteparish assistant manager Tom Mundy knew well from his time at the club. "He jumped at the chance to come here and that is important. He is keen to come here, get stuck in and do well for us," added Mundy.

Whiteparish's Barnes hit by F.A ban

Whiteparish joint manager Daniel Barnes has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association. The 25-year-old was sent to the stands for continued protests referee Stuart Attwell during Parish's 7-0 friendly defeat by Broughton. The Lions boss became incensed when Whiteparish were denied two penalty appeals late on and was eventually dismissed by Stuart Attwell. Barnes has until 2nd September to respond to the charges.

Lions budget all spent - Harris

Whiteparish Chief Executive Rob Harris says he has already overspent the clubs  transfer budget for the summer as he continues to pursue the Victoria Hotel midfielder Sam Smith. "We have overspent now in the budgets that we the board put down at the start of the close season," he told Spire F.M. "I'm aware of this, so if they were wanting to bring anybody in [after Smith], maybe it would be a loan deal. "And again we would still be pushing the borders out in terms of the money that we're spending." Harris hopes the planned move for Smith will go through during the next week. "We're still negotiating with Victoria Hotel," he said. "We hope we can meet the player later on this week. We won't see him for the weekend, it'll be too tight for that, but we would like to try to have him in the squad for next week." Harris broke the club's transfer record in July when he signed Winger Jonny Lamb for a fee which could eventually rise to £9m. Centre-half Jamie Down was brought in for £5m, while former Romsey defender Joe Jacobs and goalkepper Tom Robinson were among other acquisitions. Despite those additions Harris knows the Lions squad will be stretched to the limit by the demands of Divison 1. "I think that it's tight, in terms of the overall quality and personnel," said the Lions Chief Executive. "But can this team stay in the League? Can they make their mark? Yes, they can - with their spirit. "But sometimes in the League you need the quality, speed, concentration levels - everything like that. All those ingredients are what makes the difference between the elite leagues and the leagues below."
